I am a multimedia artist and printmaker. I am passionate about the natural world, our planet, and the beauty within it. I want people to have an emotional connection to the work.
Over the years I have experimented with watercolour, oil, mixed media, and etchings. My explorations in a wide variety of mediums led me to working under the tutelage of Greg Kerr
I have been invited to participate in small group exhibitions and, for many years and whilst living in the Canary Islands in the early 2000, I was lucky enough to be able to hold an ongoing solo exhibition at the resort at which I worked and sold work to clients from Europe. Subsequent commissions and sales have been to clients in the U.K. Spain, Italy, U.S.A. and New Zealand.
More recently, I have sold work at the Turbine Art Fair, the Joburg Art Fair and at my own solo exhibition in 2019. I have private clients who have bought work as far as the United States and the UK as well as locally.
In the last few years, I have discovered the brilliance of monotype printing thanks to the guidance and teaching of Elaine Hirschowitz at the Artist Proof Studio (APS) Artist Proof Studio Newtown and now at their new premises in Houghton, Johannesburg.
I taught printmaking at the Artist Proof Studio in Houghton during 2021. I am passionate about encouraging creativity in other people, and this was a huge honour.
As a printmaker I am constantly surprised by what I can create through this medium. The hiss hiss of rollers, the ink and the outcome … are a meditation for me. I never tire of learning new ways to print.
