About Beth…

I am a multi-discipline artist, with a life-long passion for art. My earliest memories are of spending hours drawing and painting. From an early age I drew wherever I could – even on the walls of my bedroom!

Although I never pursued a career in art, I continued always to incorporate it into my life, and I continued to be involved in the arts by consciously selecting careers that would allow me to utilise my creative skills.

Over the years I have experimented with watercolour, oil, mixed media and etchings. My explorations in a wide variety of mediums led me to working under the tutelage of Greg Kerr for a number of years with oils being the primary medium.

All through my life I have been invited to participate in small group exhibitions. Whilst living in the Canary Islands for a number of years in the early 2000, I was lucky enough to be able to participate in ongoing solo exhibitions at the resort at which I worked, and subsequently have received commissions from clients in the U.K. Spain, Italy, U.S.A. and New Zealand.

More recently I have discovered the brilliance of monotype printing thanks to the guidance and teaching of Elaine Hirschowitz (an experienced psycho-analyst and occupational therapist, divorce mediator and an extremely talented artist in her own right) at APS in Newtown, Johannesburg.

As a printmaker I am constantly surprised by what I can create though this medium.

More recently, I have sold work at the Turbine Art Faire, the Joburg Art Fair and at my own solo exhibition in 2019. I have private clients who have bought work as far as the United States and the UK as well as locally.
